You have to look real hard, just past the horizon, or deep within. You might have to squint, or wait patiently until you feel it on your skin or on the backs of your closed eyelids or in coming-soon hints of perfumed air from the buds popping up between the leaves. But trust us, Spring is in the air and is on its way.
We will not take the roaring storms and violent bluster for granted; we will kiss Winter goodbye and pray to see it again, in due time. For what is a hope-filled Spring, a lazy Summer, a romantic Fall without a raging Winter that fells the tallest trees and keeps us at home to read by candlelight or the flashlights on our phones?
Speaking of which, our twenty-first issue, Spring 2023, has arrived and is ready for you, dear reader. But don’t expect any light, feelgood stories or poems just yet. The remnants of a brash Winter are still with us, roiling our souls. Our very talented and passionate poets and storytellers from all over the world have provided some thought-provoking, eye-popping, mind-bending themes, tales and images for your review. Yes, there is mayhem that may feel like storms rattling at your doors; mischief that sounds like balls of hail banging at your windows. But sit tight. It is all in the name and spirit of Literature. You won’t be sorry. So take a break, flip open your devices or machines, pour yourself something hot or spicy or both and take a look.
Enjoy, and have a great Spring.
