Michael New studied with James T. Farrell. He worked as the managing editor of the Country Gentleman magazine. His story “The Anniversary” was published by the Saturday Evening Post.  His book “The Year of the Apple” is still available on Amazon.  He writes a monthly column—On the Road—for the Crockett Signal about his and his wife’s adventures in picking up trash along Carquinez Scenic Drive.  New wrote industrial market research for companies in Silicon Valley, taught writing, and now writes, in addition to short fiction, poetry, and novels. He lives in northern California.
